You need a Purple Tablet to access the Alien Research Facility. You'll find these tablets scattered across the island, including one in a cave near the base of the mountain.

Once you find a Purple Tablet, head to the Disease Research Facility located in the Lost River. There's an entrance in the northern blood kelp zone.
Honestly, just keep exploring Lost River and you'll eventually bump into it. Bring a Purple Tablet and some prawn suit upgrades for an easier time!
I found out the hard way: dive deep into the Lost River, locate the main entrance, and use a Purple Tablet for entry. Don't forget your depth module!
