How to Get Lava Wood in Lumber Tycoon 2
Skip the dynamite and just run up the side with a good axe. It's quicker and less of a hassle IMO.

First, make sure you have a good axe and some dynamite. You'll need to head to the Volcano, which is past the Wood R Us and across the bridge. Once you get to the volcano, use the dynamite to blow up the boulders blocking the path. Be careful climbing up - it's a bit tricky with the lava and all. Chop down those lava trees and haul 'em back! Happy chopping!
I go to the volcano area, use dynamite to clear the boulders, and then just carefully navigate around the lava. The lava wood is worth it, trust me!
Just stock up on dynamite and head over to the Volcano. Blow up the boulders, climb up, get the wood. Easy peasy!
Make sure you have a vehicle to carry the lava wood back. It makes the trip a whole lot easier!
