To play Minecraft Java on your Steam Deck, first, you'll need to install the Linux version of Minecraft since the Steam Deck runs on SteamOS, a Linux-based OS. You can do this by enabling Desktop Mode on your Steam Deck, downloading the Minecraft Java Edition from the official Minecraft website, and then following the setup instructions. Make sure to switch back to Gaming Mode to enjoy Minecraft with your Steam Deck's controller support!

Minecraft Java on Steam Deck? Just add it as a non-Steam game after you've installed it. Go to Steam in Desktop Mode, lower left corner, 'Add a Game', then 'Add a Non-Steam Game'. Browse for the Minecraft Launcher you installed. Done.

Honestly, just boot up your Steam Deck into Desktop Mode and download Minecraft Java directly from the Minecraft website. It's that easy. No need to overcomplicate things!

Why bother with Java when Bedrock runs smoother on Steam Deck? Just my two cents.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
