How to get the Mushroom NPC in Terraria?
Getting the Truffle, the Mushroom NPC, in Terraria is pretty straightforward but also kinda quirky. First, you gotta create an above-ground mushroom biome. How? Just spread some Mushroom Grass Seeds on Mud Blocks until you've got yourself a nice, glowing mushroom forest. Make sure this biome is above ground level though, or no Truffle for you. Once the biome is big and shroomy enough, build a house in it. If all is done right, the Truffle will move in, thinking he's hit the jackpot with a giant mushroom paradise!

I鈥檝e seen some players struggle with this, but I got the Truffle NPC to move into my Terraria world pretty easily. You really just need to focus on creating that mushroom biome on the surface. Used a bunch of Mushroom Grass Seeds on some Mud Blocks and kept expanding until the biome was recognized. Built a proper house - remember, it has to meet NPC house requirements - and waited. Worked like a charm. Don鈥檛 forget, though, this has to be on or above the surface level!
I don't get why everyone wants the Truffle NPC. Just play the game and explore, he'll show up when you've got the biome right. Too much hassle otherwise.
