How to Get Off Facebook Temporarily
I deactivated mine recently! Just head over to Settings, click on Your Facebook Information, and choose Deactivation. You'll come back refreshed!

Delete the app or log out. Nothing clunky, just poof! Off the grid.
You can deactivate your Facebook account for a break. Go to Settings > Your Facebook Information > Deactivation and Deletion. Super easy!
Deactivate it through settings for a temporary break or just uninstall the app. Sometimes the simplest way is the best way.
