I've done this before. Just jump off the higher platforms near the Hunter Gordo and use the jetpack for a safe landing. Keep your energy in check, though, or you'll visit the slimes down below!

To reach the mushroom with the Hunter Gordo, you'll need to head to Moss Blanket. Jump from the bridge cliff onto the mushroom platform using a jetpack! Just make sure your energy is full, or it's a looong fall back down.
