Getting out of desktop mode on your Steam Deck is super easy! Just press and hold the 'Steam' button on your device, then select 'Switch to Gaming Mode' from the options that pop up. This will take you right back to the familiar SteamOS interface where you can continue gaming to your heart’s content.

Honestly, I just reboot my Steam Deck whenever I get stuck in desktop mode. It's a bit like turning it off and on again, but it works every time for me.

No need to overcomplicate things. Just hit the Steam button and pick 'Switch to Gaming Mode'. Boom, you're back in game land!

Pro tip: Use the Steam button, navigate the menu, and select 'Switch to Gaming Mode'. Avoids the hassle of restarting or accidentally messing up settings in desktop mode.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
