Super simple! When you start, just ignore the first three Pokémon that appear. Walk away a few times until Pikachu pops up. Boom, starter Pikachu!
Just walk away from the initial three spawns. Do this like 4 times and Pikachu will show up. Worked for me and now I have my electric buddy!
When you begin the game, don't catch the first three Pokémon you see. Walk away from them (like 5-6 times) and Pikachu will eventually appear as one of the starters.
