You can get platinum by trading; farm prime parts or rare mods, and sell them in trade chat. Easy platinum, no wallet needed.
Don't sleep on Syndicate offerings! You can get Syndicate-specific weapons and mods, then trade them for platinum with other players. It's a grind, but it works.
Forget all that, just play the game! The real fun is in the missions and combat, not counting platinum.
Trading is the way to go! Sell rare mods, prime parts, or even ayatan sculptures to other players for platinum. You'd be amazed how much you can rack up!
