Forget mining, just sell stuff! Farm bosses, collect valuable items, and sell them to NPCs. Before you know it, you'll have enough coins to convert into Platinum Coins at a Piggy Bank or Safe. Technically not the bars themselves, but hey, platinum is platinum, right?

Easiest way? Go fishing. Seriously. Crate fishing can get you a bunch of Platinum Bars without ever swinging a pickaxe. Look for Iron Crates or Golden Crates; both can contain Platinum Bars and save you tons of time. Plus, fishing is a nice break from all that dungeon diving and monster fighting.
Mining? Fishing? Too slow. Just create a new world and loot everything again. The game's random generation means more ores for the taking with less effort. Rinse and repeat till you're swimming in Platinum.
Nah, don't bother. Gold is just as good and way easier to find. Why stress over Platinum?
Getting Platinum in Terraria is all about the grind! First off, you gotta mine it from Platinum Ore, which you can find aplenty in the Cavern layer.
