As someone who's spent way too many hours in the game, I recommend focusing on capturing the Chaos Rifts and shutting them down. This cuts off their reinforcements and gives you a breather.
You can try and wipe out the Chaos factions, but don't forget to form alliances with other factions to help in the fight. Teamwork makes the dream work!
Honestly, just keep a strong front and don't let the chaos armies snowball. Nipping them in the bud early is key.
