As someone who's spent way too many hours in the game, I recommend focusing on capturing the Chaos Rifts and shutting them down. This cuts off their reinforcements and gives you a breather.

You can try and wipe out the Chaos factions, but don't forget to form alliances with other factions to help in the fight. Teamwork makes the dream work!
