I've found that the fastest way to ditch clothes is through the Avatar editor. Open it up, select the piece of clothing, and remove it. Done!

Open your Avatar, then navigate to 'Clothing' and choose the type of clothing you want to remove. Click on 'Remove' to unwear it.
