Go into the Quick Access Menu by pressing the β...β button, then navigate to Performance > Advanced View, and set the overlay to 'off'.
You can disable it by tweaking some options in the settings menu. Just navigate to Settings > Performance and turn off the Performance Overlay.
The simplest way: press the quick settings button and toggle the performance overlay off. Problem solved!
