If you accidentally lost your save data in Sonic Forces, you might be able to recover it through Steam Cloud. Make sure Steam Cloud is enabled and your data syncs correctly. Go to your game properties on Steam, and check the updates tab to ensure 'Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for Sonic Forces' is ticked. If it still doesn't work, check for any local backup files on your computer under C:\Users\[YourName]\Saved Games.
Once had a corruption scare myself, but managed to restore my Sonic Forces save with a backup I found in my user folder's 'Saved Games'. Give it a shot!
Honestly, your save data might just be gone if you didn't have a backup or cloud save turned on. Sorry!
