From my experience, the best way to get the Scientist Crate is to save up Flush Coins and check the shop regularly. It's totally worth it for the killer upgrades!
Scientist Crates are usually available in the in-game shop. Make sure you have enough Flush Coins or Robux. Happy defending!
Honestly, don't bother with the Scientist Crate. Focus on upgrading your current units first.
