Getting a Shadow Key in Terraria is pretty straightforward but requires a bit of dungeon diving. You gotta head to the Dungeon, which you can find on your world map. Be careful, though, because it's guarded by Skeletron, so you'll need to defeat him first. Once you've done that, go explore the Dungeon. The Shadow Key can usually be found in locked Gold Chests within the Dungeon. Keep an eye out for those chests, loot everything, and with a bit of luck, you'll snag yourself a Shadow Key. Happy looting!

Honestly, I've had more trouble deciding what to do with all the extra Shadow Keys I find than actually finding one. Just dive into the Dungeon after dealing with Skeletron, and you're bound to run into a few.

Just go beat Skeletron and raid the Dungeon. Shadow Key is in one of those gold chests. Ez.
