You can't make characters sleep on command. Just switch to another character, and the tired one will get their beauty sleep eventually.
You can't manually put your characters to sleep, but switching to a different character should do the trick.
State of Decay characters don't sleep on demand. Just swap characters and they’ll rest automatically over time.
