How to Get the Merchant in Terraria
NoticingPuff·8 months agoJust hoard 50 silver coins. That’s the trick. The Merchant will pop up wanting a piece of your shiny stash. Make sure you've got a place for him to crash, though. A simple room with walls, a door, a table, a chair, and lighting should do it. Happy trading!

To get the Merchant to move in, make sure you've got a suitable house for him AND you have at least 50 silver coins in your inventory. The guy's got a thing for shiny coins, so once you've got that covered, he'll move in to start trading with you.
You don't actually need the Merchant. Terraria's about creativity and survival, not capitalism. ?
All these fancy setups and all you really need is 50 silver coins and a basic house. People overcomplicate it. ?
I remember the first time I got the Merchant to move in! Had my 50 silver coins ready and a cozy little house set up. It was awesome seeing him show up, ready to trade. Makes the game feel so much more alive!
