Actually, getting to Linux on the Steam Deck is as easy as pie! Just hit the Steam button, go to the power menu, and bam - 'Switch to Desktop' is right there waiting for you. Now you're free to nerd out in full Linux glory.

No need to overcomplicate it: Steam button ➜ Power ➜ Switch to Desktop. Simple.

Guys, seriously, why would you even want to exit game mode? The Steam Deck is for gaming, pure and simple. Stick to what it does best!

Getting to Linux on your Steam Deck is pretty straightforward since the device itself runs on SteamOS, which is a Linux-based operating system. However, if you're looking to access the desktop mode, you just need to press the 'Steam' button on your Steam Deck, select 'Power', and then choose 'Switch to Desktop'. This will take you to the Linux desktop environment where you can explore more traditional PC functions outside of gaming.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
