First, make sure you've upgraded your Cyclops and Prawn Suit. Then head to the Lost River, navigate through the Ghost Canyon, and you'll find an entrance to the Lava Lakes. Beware the Lava Lizards and the Sea Dragon though!

Make sure you've got a Cyclops with a depth module upgrade and can handle the heat. Follow the Lost River path, go through the Inactive Lava Zone, and voila, you're in the Lava Lakes!

Just head down and keep going until everything gets really hot and red. Pretty hard to miss!

I've done this a bunch! Use your Cyclops to enter the Lost River cave system via the Blood Kelp Zone, then proceed through the Disease Research Facility tunnel, which leads directly to the Lava Lakes. Keep an eye out for Leviathans!
