I did the Genocide route once and couldn't bear to leave it that way. I deleted the SAVE file from my system (located in AppData for Windows users) and everything went back to normal. It was like a fresh slate!
You need to do a True Reset. Go to the game's main menu, select 'True Reset,' and you'll be back at the beginning as if nothing happened. Just don't try to befriend Flowey again!
