Got the Winter Melon last week! Honestly, just play lots and focus on getting as much in-game money as you can. Winning levels and not spending much on other plants or power-ups helped me save up quicker. The upgrade from Melon-pult to Winter Melon totally changes the game, especially against those tougher zombie waves!
