Unfortunately, the PS5 doesn't currently have a direct gifting feature. You can buy a PlayStation Store gift card instead!

No gifting on PS5 yet, but you can buy a game code from the PlayStation Store and send it to them.

Yeah, Sony hasn't added a gifting option yet. Best bet is to grab a digital code or a gift card.
