The only way to gift V-Bucks is through purchasing a physical or digital V-Bucks card. Just give the code to your friend, and they can redeem it themselves.
Forget about gifting V-Bucks. Just get them a skin or item they like from the in-game store instead.
You can't gift V-Bucks directly in Fortnite. You can buy them a gift card, or get them something cool from the Item Shop. That's what I did for my buddy's birthday, and he loved it!
