You gotta build an outpost on a planet that has Helium-3 (He3) as a resource. Once the outpost is set up, you can place mining extractors to start collecting He3. Make sure you also have power sources to keep those extractors going!
I set up an outpost on a He3-rich planet, added some power, and let my extractors do their thing while I explored. Piece of cake!
Just land on a planet with He3, set up your gear, and start collecting. Easy peasy, space lemon squeezy.
