To start a hobby in The Sims FreePlay, build and complete the relevant building or area (like the Art Gallery for Painting), then assign your Sim to it.
You gotta complete quests to unlock hobbies first. Once unlocked, tap on hobby items or locations to start practicing!
Just send your Sims to the community center or whatever hobby building and click on an activity. It's that simple.
