To hide CPU opponents in Super Smash Bros, try using the character select screen to turn off their slots by setting them to 'none'. Just click on the CPU box and remove it!
Pro tip, just don't add them in the first place. On the character select screen, double-click the CPU slot and it will vanish. Boom, done!
