Just go to your profile, tap the three lines, go to Settings, hit Privacy, then Activity Status, and toggle it off.
You can hide your online status by going to your profile, tapping the three lines in the top right, selecting Settings, then Privacy, and finally Activity Status. Toggle it off and you're invisible!
Seriously, just turn off 'Activity Status' in the privacy settings. It's that simple.
