If you want to hide a post from your feed but not delete it, use the Archive feature. Just tap the three dots on the top right of the post and select 'Archive.'
Seriously, just archive it! Three dots, Archive, done.
Worked for me: Tap the three dots on the post, hit 'Archive,' and it disappears from your profile but stays safe in your archives.
