How to host a Terraria server via IP
DealingDada路8 months agoHosting a Terraria server via IP is pretty straightforward! First, make sure you've got Terraria installed on your computer. Then you'll need to launch the game, select 'Multiplayer' > 'Host & Play', choose a character, a world, and finally set a server password if you want. Now, for the crucial part - your friends will need your IP to join. You can find your IP address by searching 'What's my IP?' on Google. Give that to your friends, and they should be able to join you by selecting 'Join via IP' in their Terraria game. Just remember to check your firewall settings to allow Terraria through, and if you're behind a router, you might need to set up port forwarding for port 7777, which is the default Terraria port.

Don't bother, just use Terraria's in-game invite system if you and your friends are on Steam. Way easier than dealing with IP addresses and port forwarding.
Just FYI, hosting a server via IP could be a bit tricky if you're not tech-savvy. Sometimes it's easier to use Terraria's built-in Steam multiplayer feature or use dedicated server software if you're planning to host for a lot of people.
