Honestly, unless you're a serious collector, don't sweat it too much. Most are just looking for cool cars to race and display, not the nitty-gritty of case identification!

Identifying Hot Wheels cases is all about the code printed on the outside. Each case has a letter and number code - the letter represents the release wave, and the number indicates the year. Check the bottom of your cars too, for a date stamp which tells you the production year. So grab a magnifying glass and start sleuthing!

It's simpler than it sounds, just look at the codes on the case. The letters tell you the series - A is usually the start of the year. The numbers? They're the year of release.

If love Hot Wheels, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

Several of those prizes are trending Hot Wheels, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
