Japanese cards? Just flip it! If the back says 'Pocket Monsters' instead of 'Pokemon Card Game', congrats, it's Japanese. Also, the glossy finish can be a dead giveaway.

Honestly, it's not that hard. If you can't read it, it's probably Japanese. And check the back for 'Pocket Monsters'. Easy.

Easy, peasy, lemon squeezy! Japanese Pokemon cards are usually a dead giveaway because of the back of the card. Look for the distinct 'Pocket Monsters' text instead of 'Pokemon Card Game'. Also, the text on the card will obviously be in Japanese. If you're seeing characters you don't recognize from your English alphabet soup, chances are, you've got yourself a Japanese card.

Don't forget the card number! Japanese Pokemon cards often have their card number and set printed differently than their English counterparts. Look for a little number at the bottom like 'RR' or something similar to spot them!

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
