How to Identify Pokemon Cards by Number
SortyingSlag路7 months agoOkay, so when you're looking to identify a Pokemon card by its number, flip the card over to the bottom corner. You'll see something that looks like '123/456' or 'SM135'. The first number or the letters indicate the card's position in a specific set or series, and the second part (after the slash) tells you the total number of cards in that set. For example, '123/456' means it's the 123rd card out of a total 456 in that set. If you see letters like 'SM' or 'XY', they're abbreviating the series name, making it easier to pinpoint the exact series and set your card belongs to.

Actually, just use an online database. Seriously, type the number into a search engine and add 'Pokemon card'. You'll probably find your card in seconds. It's the internet age, after all. No need to crack the Da Vinci Code.
Honestly, the numbers are handy, but they're like hieroglyphics without a reference. I always mix up sets!
