Light test is ur friend here! Hold the card up to a light and if you can't see through it at all, chances are it's a real deal. Fakes often have a different paper quality that lets some light through. Don't go ruining your cards though, be gentle!

The easiest way to spot a fake Pokemon card is by checking the card texture and color. Real cards have a distinct feel and finish, and the colors are vibrant but not overly saturated. Also, take a close look at the edges. Genuine Pokemon cards have clean, smooth cuts. If the card has rough or uneven edges, that's a red flag. Another pro tip is to look at the font used for text; if it鈥檚 inconsistent with that of cards you know are real, it鈥檚 likely a fake.

Fake cards often miss the mark with spelling mistakes or off-center artwork. It鈥檚 pretty easy, just compare the suspect card with images of a real one online.

Honestly, sometimes it's just a gut feeling. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. I once got a 'rare' card so cheap I was over the moon... till I found out it was fake. The holographic pattern looked off, and the card felt too flimsy. Always buy from reputable sources, folks.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
