Don't get too caught up in the red lines, though. Some modern reissues mimic the Redline style, so the age of the car matters a lot. Original Redlines are from the late 60s to mid 70s.
To spot a Redline Hot Wheel, check for thin red lines on the tires - that's where the 'Redline' name comes from. These were produced from 1968 to 1977, so the models from these years are your best bet. The original Redline Hot Wheels also had a distinctive metallic paint called 'Spectraflame', which made them pop compared to other toys at the time. Not every old Hot Wheel is a Redline, so those red lines are crucial!
