Use the Training feature to increase your friendship level without having to actively play. Set it and forget it!
Honestly, the easiest way is by using characters in battle. Just play a lot and they'll become BFFs in no time.
Don't overthink it. Just keep using the character you want to level up in various missions and activities.
Doing the daily Let's Fight!! event is your best bet. Lots of friendship points and super quick!
