Nah, don’t bother. Just use the built-in archive manager on Steam Deck. It's good enough for most stuff you'll need to unzip or zip. Why complicate life?

Oh, it's a piece of cake! First, you'll want to switch your Steam Deck to Desktop Mode. Then, open up Discover, which is the app store for SteamOS. In the search bar, type '7zip' (though it might actually be listed as 'p7zip' or something similar). Once you find it, hit 'Install' and wait for it to do its magic. After it's installed, you can manage your archives with ease. Just remember to switch back to Gaming Mode to jump back into your gaming adventures!

Totally recommend installing 7zip! I did it on my Steam Deck to manage some game mods, and it works like a charm. Make sure you're in Desktop Mode, find the app in Discover, and install. Easy peasy!

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
