First, make sure you have the right SSD (M.2 2230 NVMe). Then, power off your Steam Deck, remove the back screws, and carefully open the case. Disconnect the battery before installing the SSD to be safe. Swap out the old SSD for the new one, reconnect the battery, and reassemble the device. Finally, reinstall the SteamOS using a recovery image from Valve.

Buy a compatible SSD, open up your Steam Deck, and replace the old one with the new SSD. Easy peasy!

Ok, first thing's first: get yourself a tiny screwdriver and an M.2 2230 NVMe SSD. Turn off your Steam Deck, remove the screws on the back, and open 'er up. Unplug the battery connector to avoid zappin' yourself. Swap the SSD, plug the battery back in, and screw it all together. You'll need to reinstall SteamOS from a USB drive or microSD card.

I replaced my SSD last weekend. Just unscrew the back cover, unplug the battery, and swap the SSDs. Then reinstall SteamOS using a recovery image. Worked like a charm!

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
