Super simple! Steam Deck runs on SteamOS, which is Linux-based, but it's got Proton - a compatibility layer that lets most Windows games, including those needing DirectX, run smoothly. So, when you install a game through Steam that needs DirectX, Proton takes care of it automatically. You really don't have to do anything extra. Just install your game and play!

Actually, you won't install DirectX directly onto the Steam Deck because it uses Proton for Windows game compatibility. Just focus on the games you want; Proton and Steam take care of the rest.

DirectX on Steam Deck? No worries! It's all handled by Proton. So just install your game from Steam and enjoy. No manual installs needed.

I've been using my Steam Deck for months and never had to manually install DirectX for any game. Proton, which comes with SteamOS, automates the process. Just download your game, and you're set!

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
