Honestly, why bother with Bedrock when you can play Java? Java Edition runs perfectly on Steam Deck and you get mods. Bedrock's cool and all, but Java's where it's at for the real Minecraft fans.
I got Minecraft Bedrock running on my Steam Deck last weekend! Pre-install the Microsoft Edge from Discover Store in Desktop Mode. Then, buy Minecraft from the Microsoft Store through Edge. Remember, you鈥檒l need to use Edge specifically because it supports the necessary DRM. After installation, add it to your Steam library as a non-Steam game. Worked like a charm for me!
Installing Minecraft Bedrock on your Steam Deck is like teaching it new tricks! First, enable Desktop Mode on your Steam Deck. Then, head over to the Microsoft Store through the Edge browser to purchase and install Minecraft Bedrock. Finally, create a non-Steam game shortcut in SteamOS to launch it directly from Gaming Mode. It's a bit of a roundabout way but totally worth it for Minecraft on the go!
