Here's the easiest way: Download the firmware update from Sony's official website onto a USB drive. Create a folder structure like this: USB > PS3 > UPDATE. Save the update file in the UPDATE folder. Insert the USB drive into your PS3 and go to Settings > System Update > Update via Storage Media. Follow the on-screen instructions. Voila!
