Got Vortex running on my Steam Deck after some tinkering. The key is switching to Desktop Mode and treating it like a regular PC. Sure, it's not straightforward, but if you're patient, it's doable. Make sure you download the Linux version of Vortex, and you'll be modding in no time!

Just don't. Vortex and the Steam Deck aren't really meant to mingle. You're better off sticking to the Steam Workshop for your modding needs on the Steam Deck.

Installing Vortex on your Steam Deck is like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole, but here's a workaround! Since the Steam Deck runs on SteamOS (a Linux variant), you'd first need to enable Desktop Mode. Then, download the Linux version of Vortex from the Nexus Mods website. Install it as you would on a regular Linux system. Remember, you'll also need to install any dependencies that Vortex requires. It's a bit of a process, but where there's a will, there's always a way!

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
