To install a web browser on your Steam Deck, you'll need to switch to Desktop mode first. Once you're in Desktop mode, open the Discover software center, which is basically like an app store for the Steam Deck. Search for the web browser you want to install (like Firefox, Chrome, etc.), click install, and voilà! After it's installed, you can switch back to Gaming mode and find your browser in the Non-Steam section.

Honestly, you might not even need to install a browser. Steam's built-in web functionality covers a lot, especially for quick searches or community access. But if you're set on it, Desktop mode is your friend for installing anything extra.

Just boot into Desktop mode, and treat it like a regular Linux PC. Use the Discover app to find and install your browser. Simple as that.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
