How to Join a Friend on Terraria
JiggettingBait路8 months agoSuper easy mode: First, make sure you and your friend have Terraria installed and updated. Open Terraria, select 'Multiplayer' > 'Join via IP' > 'Enter Server IP'. Your friend will need to host a game, so ask them for the IP address and port number, punch those in, and boom, you're in!

Just host & play! Tell your buddy to select 'Multiplayer', then 'Host & Play'. They'll pick their character and world, and then you should see their game under the 'Join Via Steam' option if you're both friends on Steam. No need to mess with IP addresses. Make sure you're both online on Steam, and you're set!
Oh, and double-check your firewall settings! Sometimes the reason you can't join is as simple as your firewall blocking Terraria. Happened to me more than once. Always worth a check before you dive into the more complicated stuff.
Honestly, sometimes it's just easier to meet up irl than to figure out how to join each other in Terraria...
