I do this all the time! Start by launching the game, then navigate to the 'Multiplayer' section from the main menu. You can then choose to either host a session or join a friend's game. Just make sure your friends are online and ready to survive!
All you gotta do is open up the game, go to the Community tab, and select the Multiplayer option. Invite friends through their gamertags or join random sessions. You'll be crushing zombies together in no time!
