Assassination! Use your own heroes or agents with high assassination chances to eliminate them in the campaign map.
Surround the hero with strong melee units to bog them down and deal consistent damage. Heroes can't handle being overwhelmed by numbers!
Don't forget magic! Use spells that target single entities or high-damage spells to make quick work of those pesky heroes.
Hot take: Just ignore them and focus on the main army. Sometimes it's better to win the battle than to chase a single hero.
