Hot take: Killing the Traveling Merchant? That's cold, dude. Besides, Terraria doesn't let you attack friendly NPCs directly. If he dies, it's on Terraria, not you!

LOL, why would you wanna kill the Traveling Merchant? He's just a harmless NPC that comes around to sell stuff. ? But if you're asking for science, NPCs in Terraria, including the Traveling Merchant, can't be directly killed by players. They can die from environmental hazards though, like enemies or traps. So, technically, you could lead an enemy to him or get creative with traps. Not that I'm encouraging this behavior!

Actually, I tried to 'get rid of' the Traveling Merchant once (don't ask why). Ended up accidentally leading a bunch of zombies to my base during a Blood Moon and it was chaos. So, word of advice: be careful what you wish for in Terraria. NPCs can't be killed directly by you, but the chaos that follows trying... it's not worth it.

If you're a Terraria player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:
