Rare Pokemon cards usually have that shiny, holographic look, but don't get fooled by just the bling. The real deal is in the symbols and sometimes the card texture. If you feel like you're handling something more like a treasure than a piece of cardboard, congrats, you've probably got something special!

To spot a rare Pokemon card, check the bottom right corner for the symbol. Commons have a circle, uncommons have a diamond, and rares have a star. Also, ultra rares and secret rares have unique symbols like a star H or three stars, making them stand out even more. Don't forget to look out for holographic features, as those usually indicate a higher rarity!

Just flip it! The symbol tells all. Circle = common, diamond = uncommon, star = rare. Got a weird shiny symbol you don't recognize? Even rarer.

If it looks cool and everyone wants it, it's probably rare. Simple.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
