Check the model number on the back of your PS3. If it starts with CECHCxx or CECHExx, you're in luck—it's backwards compatible!

If your PS3 has 4 USB ports, it likely has backwards compatibility. Those models usually support PS2 games.

Don't bother with the model numbers. Just try popping in a PS2 game and see if it runs. Easy peasy.

From my experience, the 60GB and 80GB PS3s (from the early days) are the ones with backwards compatibility. Later models not so much!

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
