Honestly, it's all about the holo. If the holographic part looks cheap or peels off, you've got a fake on your hands. Most counterfeiters can't get the holo right, so it's a dead giveaway.

First off, check the card's texture and color. Real Pokemon cards have a distinct smooth feel and vibrant colors. The fake ones? Not so much, they're usually dull or off. Also, the border color should be a consistent bright blue. Another solid tip is to look at the card's text for any misspellings or odd fonts. And don't forget to peek at the bottom right corner for the card's set symbol, a genuine card will always have one. Lastly, real cards have a slight layering effect on them, if you look at the sides, you can kinda see it!

Just weigh it, bro. Fake cards feel lighter than the real deal. Simple as that.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
